Feldon Who?

Starting out back in January 2014 in a glorified broom cupboard with me, Steve and our secretary Pat seems like a lifetime ago. By the same token, the past 7 years (almost) have been an absolute whirlwind and the team is now 16 strong. We are continuing to expand as a firm but the focus will continue to be on our core areas of commercial property, development, planning and construction. The key to what has made us successful up until now is still an emphasis on Building Legal Solutions and that sign takes pride of place in our Boardroom.

Back when we first started, it was very much Feldon Who? and probably quite rightly. Steve and I each had a solid base of clients and contacts personally but, we always had the ambition and vision to join forces to form a solicitors practice that was both different to the norm and resilient. Together, and, with a great deal of support from all the people inside and outside the business we have created that. The name Feldon Dunsmore does not slip off the tongue necessarily but we now have a name and brand of which we are all proud to be associated with. We certainly don’t get asked who is Feldon and who is Dunsmore so often these days!

Our original strategic plan had a 5 year target and after much hard work from everyone we managed to achieve those goals. We are now in the next cycle and look to be in a strong position to take advantage of the opportunities that will inevitably arise as a result of the current pandemic.

There have and continue to be many challenges along the way, of course, but over the past 6 months we have bucked the trend in continuing to recruit quality lawyers at both a senior and junior level. I did fear that by the time we got to July we would have very few new transactions on which we would be instructed but fortunately the opposite has been the case and we are as busy as ever and still striving for that work life balance. That is testament to the quality and strength of our client base and team. For the time being the property market has stayed strong and developers are still active in buying new sites.

Our best source of new work is still recommendations from existing clients and our professional contacts and thanks go to all those who have introduced us to their network. We will be looking to bring back the Property Pulse event at the right time but in the meantime Sharon Baxter, our Business Development Manager is available to discuss any potential opportunities to collaborate.

We have belatedly looked to start a Blog and this is the first of our weekly updates. It will cover a mixture of subjects but most importantly our aim is for the posts to be interesting and informative.

If something catches your eye on any of our future posts then by all means join the debate by using the comments section.
