I’m Otto, one of the firm’s very proud Directors of General Sociability—D.O.G.S. for short. I’m a Yorkipoo by breed, but a full-time professional morale booster by calling.
My job is simple but extremely important: make sure all my colleges stay happy, calm, and occasionally reminded to step away from their desks for a much-needed break (ideally one featuring my company and perhaps a treat).
Every morning, I begin with my official office rounds. I trot from desk to desk, offering tail wags, polite sniffs, and gentle reminders that ear scratches are not only welcomed—they are encouraged. I take my role very seriously. If anyone looks stressed, tired, or like they’ve been squinting at the same paragraph for far too long, I’ll propose a scientifically proven morale-boosting activity: “throw the toy, retrieve the toy, and don’t return the toy.” It works wonders for both productivity and my personal entertainment. Honestly, several of the firm’s finest legal ideas have been sparked during my stroll-led “strategy sessions.”
When I’m not hard at work fulfilling my sociability obligations, you’ll likely find me supervising the office’s sunlight patches, collecting an ever-growing archive of soft toys (all extremely important), or monitoring the floor for any snack-related incidents. Yes, I am small—but don’t be fooled. I carry myself with full senior-staff authority, especially when squeaky balls are in play.
But my greatest contribution isn’t in toys, treats, or even my exceptional greeting skills. It’s reminding everyone that even in a busy law firm, joy matters. A cuddle, a quick play break, a moment to breathe—these are the things that keep my humans going. And I’m here to make absolutely sure nobody forgets that.
After all, the firm runs smoother with a wagging tail on duty.
