
My personal philosophy is based on being very approachable and giving my clients straightforward and practical commercial legal advice to enable them to meet their objectives.
My motivation to be a solicitor first came about as a result of wanting to prove I had got what it takes. I like to think that I’ve mellowed as my career has progressed, but I still have a strong desire and competitive nature driving me on to always seek the best possible result.
The firm has come a long way since Steve Petty and I founded it back in 2014 and I’m extremely proud of what we have created. After a lot of hard work and dedication we are now established as a successful commercial property practice in the region.
The part of my job that I now enjoy the most is mentoring and developing our early talent: We have created a very strong team that regularly receives fantastic feedback, which is testament to their commitment to provide a first-class service together with demonstrating strong technical skills that set us apart.
The transition to being an employee-owned business late in 2025 was a natural progression and I will continue to play an integral role over the coming years in helping Feldon Dunsmore grow and continue demonstrating our core values of passion, integrity, going above and beyond and pursuing excellence.
Providing for my children has and always will be a strong motivation, as is the desire to show them that if you work hard enough you can achieve anything in life.
Outside of work, I continue to suffer the woes of following Derby County Football Club and the England cricket team whilst living in hope of finally getting some more time out on the golf course this year.
As a follower of Derby County, any pearls of wisdom from the legend Brian Clough but one in particular is: "I wouldn't say I was the best manager in the business. But I was in the top one"
