Katy-Mae Smith

Operations and Events Manager

I was born in Leamington Spa and come from a farming family based in Hatton. I spent weekends and holidays at my grandparents’ cottage, where I was always involved with my grandad’s sheep, chickens, pet rabbits, and his loyal sheepdog and gundog. My nan inspired my love for cooking and baking—there were always delicious cakes waiting for us when we visited.

At home, we had rabbits, guinea pigs, and an adorable Jack Russell named Hannah. This upbringing naturally led me to begin my career in animal management. However, after regularly working shifts at the local pub, I transitioned into hospitality. I went on to manage a gastro pub/restaurant for 16 years before moving into an office environment to enjoy more sociable working hours.

I take great pride in providing excellent customer service, supporting the team, and helping others wherever I can. At Feldon Dunsmore, I especially enjoy organising social events and assisting with external functions.

I have a passion for exotic pets, having previously owned bearded dragons and a chameleon—now fondly remembered. These days, I spend my free time with my Miniature Dachshund, enjoying countryside walks with my partner and stepdaughter. We’ve also recently joined the National Trust and love exploring historic buildings and learning more about local history.
