We are delighted to announce that Beth Sealey and Heidi Erlandsen have been promoted from paralegals to trainee solicitors with us at Feldon Dunsmore Solicitors.

The Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) is the new way to qualify as a solicitor in England and Wales, eventually replacing the Legal Practice Course (LPC) route to qualification. Both Beth and Heidi are now registered for the SQE1 course commencing later this month with the firm having agreed to fully sponsor them both in recognition of their achievements so far.

The SQE is split into two assessments SQE1 and SQE2 and to qualify as solicitors, having both completed degrees, they will need to pass both exams and undertake at least two years’ full time qualifying work experience.

Beth and Heidi will study the SQE course part-time in the evenings with the University of Law and undertake the assessments whilst working full-time as trainee solicitors, which is no mean feat. However, through their experiences working as paralegals they are already both developing the competences needed to be a solicitor which will put them in the best position possible.

The experience they have from working at Feldon Dunsmore to date and the work they will continue with as trainee solicitors will both qualify towards the required two years’ work experience.

The firm’s strategy for growth is based on finding exceptional young talent and allowing it to blossom and both Beth and Heidi are great examples of that. They have both worked extremely hard and shown great enthusiasm and commitment to their current roles as paralegals and are very deserving of their promotion and opportunity to continue their progress towards qualification with Feldon Dunsmore’s support.

We are excited to see them both progress with their training and careers with Feldon Dunsmore. Well done Beth and Heidi!
